Abstract
The essay offers and arouses a broad rereading of György Lukács’s aesthetic studies, aiming to enhance the category of “aesthetic position”. It is argued that the dynamics of the aesthetic position fed into the typically aesthetic subject-object relationship contain heuristic moments that can be used in the work of interpretation concerning the functioning and social value of both perception and imagination.
