Abstract

The essay presents and sustains the following theses: a) care is an ontologically constitutive phenomenon of the human condition; b) the essence of care expresses itself in postures of being which can be defined as virtues; c) if acting according to virtue is essentially ethical because it responds to the need to search for the best way to be in the world, then care is ethical in its essence; d) ethical education can be interpreted as education to the ethics of virtue in the horizon of care.
