Abstract

The article identifies in Aimee Césaire’s educational poetics elements
for reflection on the persistence of forms of racism, prejudice, and mistrust
towards other cultures. Césaire’s work effectively interprets decolonial discourse,
highlighting the implicit mechanism of an anthropology that bases its presumed
superiority on a specific idea of Civilization. The epistemological framework within
which we conducted our analysis is hermeneutic in nature (De Sousa S., 2021), the
methodological approach is qualitative and favors a transdisciplinary perspective
(Maldonado Torres N., 2016). Consequently, the educational proposal pursues an
interpretative nature to arrive at the libertarian horizon (Dussel E., 2004). The aim is
to contribute to the pedagogical debate surrounding the decolonial (Boschi C., 2024;
2025) and postcolonial (Burgio G., 2015, 2023, Mellino M., 2005, Zedd M., 2023)
thought movement – now much frequented by European and American scholars –
with the aim of highlighting its specific pedagogical nature.
