Abstract

The relationship between pedagogy and philosophy is ancient and arose when education became necessary for all citizens who had to make political decisions relating to polis life. The same problem is posed by 20th-century critical pedagogy, which is based on Marxist discourse on education, such as Gramsci's analysis of the importance of culture in social dynamics. Once again, the basis is the concept of integral education, derived from philosophy, which reconnects the individual with their own political reality and with the civic life of their fellow citizens who contribute to shaping them as human beings.
