Abstract
The text reflects on the risk that the research of one’s object of study by scientific societies turns into the definition of disciplinary boundaries. In this sense, the search for identity through the definition of the objects of study reproposes the largely outdated subject-object paradigm on the one hand, while on the other it engages the conflicts with those who work on the same themes. Furthermore, recognizing oneself by agreeing on the objects of research distracts pedagogical societies from considering the real impact of one’s research, while the problem is not so much recognizing oneself within societies as it is being recognized and having a real impact on educational systems.
