Abstract
The article proposes a reinterpretation of Antonio Banfi’s thought in light of today’s educational challenges, particularly regarding digitalization, the centrality of the body, and citizenship. By situating Banfi within twentieth-century philosophy, the essay demonstrates how his critical rationalism and the notion of the “culture of crisis” may serve as heuristic frameworks for rethinking the autonomy of pedagogy and its formative mission in the algorithmic age. The hypothesis is that Banfi’s problematicism allows the elaboration of a new pedagogical humanism, conceived as digital transcendentalism, aimed at preserving freedom and dignity in technological society.
