Abstract

The aim of this paper is to reflect on university teaching today, in order to understand what is needed to build a university truly able to intercept contemporary needs. Starting from an analysis of the concept of innovation, we will discuss the actual cultural challenges faced by the university, in particular the issues of fragmentation and datafication. In the last part, some goals for designing a “contemporary” university will be suggested: interdisciplinarity, quality and attention to students.
