Abstract

The concept of “deep play” by Clifford Geertz, in our society can be referred to football. The pervasiveness of this game and its language, its multiple playful forms and the fact that it is the most practiced game at both a formal and informal level since childhood, and most represented, create the pedagogical conditions for the education of a collective identity of which football is the “background”.
