Abstract

The historiography of the eighteenth-century Church lacks both the sophistication and wider influence that those of the sixteenth-, seventeenth-, or nineteenth-century Church enjoy. If things are to change, we must step outside of Sykes's shadow once and forever. But do we have the will to do so?
