Paul Virilio. Nel tunnel del Tempo

Abstract

Two years after his death, Contesti republishes a 1993 article by the French urban planner, philosopher and writer Paul Virilio, which summarizes some recurring topics of many of his essays and books – such as “L’Espace critique” (1984), and later “La vitesse de libération” (1995) – focused on the alterations on the way of living and perceiving space, and consequently on urban, social, economic and political models, induced by the increasing speed (up to the limit of instantaneity) of transport and communication: forecasts and warnings on the dystopian effects of the more and more marked primacy of time over space, that characterizes the globalized world.
