Ein Gespräch: Szondis Celan-Studien

Abstract

My paper aims at reconstructing the intellectual dialogue between Paul Celan and Peter Szondi, moving from their common Jewish background. It will focus especially on Szondi’s essays on Celan’s poetry which raise a number of questions concerning the hermeneutic approach to texts and the possible knowledge of biographical and historical frameworks in the analysis of literary works.
