About the Editor in Chief

Francesco Palumbo (PhD in Computational Statistics and Applications) has been a Full Professor of Statistics at the University of Naples Federico II since 2009. Previously, he served as Associate Professor and subsequently Full Professor of Statistics at the University of Macerata from 2001 to 2009.
He is a member of the Department of Political Sciences and teaches Statistics in bachelor's and master's degree programs. He collaborates with several scientific journals and has participated in numerous national and international research projects, both as a coordinator and as a research unit member.
Professor Palumbo has contributed significantly to the International Association for Statistical Computing (IASC), a section of the International Statistical Institute (ISI), serving as scientific secretary (2007–2009) and council member (2009–2013 and 2017–2019). He also served as President of ClaDAG, the Classification and Data Analysis Group of the Italian Statistical Society, and was a council member of the International Federation of Classification Societies (IFCS) from 2015 to 2019.
Additionally, he has been involved in numerous national and international scientific committees, including the IASC-ISI scientific committee for the ISI session in Durban, South Africa (2009), and the WSC-ISI committee in Hong Kong (2013), where he was a delegate for the IASC.
His primary research interests lie in the analysis of complex data structures, data mining, and multivariate analysis. Currently, he serves as the Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Naples Federico II.
