Abstract
This study aimed to translate and validate the Academic Procrastination Scale – Short Form (APS-SF) in the Italian context. Specifically, this study focused on the psychometric properties of validity and reliability in a sample of N=340 university students. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Item Response Theory (IRT) models were performed. CFA and IRT models showed the unifactorial model proposed in the original version of the scale. The IRT approach also provided evidence for satisfactorily test information and the measurement invariance for gender. These findings confirm that the Italian version of APS-SF is a valid and reliable measure to assess procrastination in Italian academic students.
