Abstract

Esistono progetti di residenze che mutuano le proprie forme a partire da una riflessione che travalica i confini dell’opera, coinvolgendo la città e il territorio perché concepiscono la risposta alla necessità abitativa come motore di un ripensamento del fatto urbano. Fra questi progetti un posto spetta sicuramente a quello dei Robin Hood Gardens, realizzato a Londra nel 1972 da Alison e Peter Smithson e oggi purtroppo demolito.

There are housing projects which transform their shape based upon a reflection that goes beyond the boundaries of the work, involving the city and the territory because they conceive the answer to dwelling needs as a motor for re-thinking the urban event. Among these a special place is certainly held by the Robin Hood Gardens, built in London in 1972 by Alison and Peter Smithson, which have since been unfortunately demolished.
