About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Firenze Architettura (FA) offers articles and essays on Architecture Design, Architectural Theory and Critique, Urban Studies, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, Landscape, Archaeology, Photography, reports of the latest related researches and book reviews. This makes FA essential reading for national and international academic researchers and architecture designers.

Each FA issue focuses on a main editorial theme, exploring its facets from an interdisciplinary point of view.

FA welcomes contributions and essays from all over the world since the journal is conceived as an open space for presentation and discussion of full-length papers, review papers and short notes addressing an original interpretation on architecture design, its pedagogy and its role in our multilayered society, its relationships with cultural and historical heritage and values and -last but not least- with our fragile environment.

Peer Review Process

The peer review process is double-blind, whereby both referees and authors are kept anonymous. The originals received are assessed, in the first instance, by one or more members of the journal's Editorial board who will decide, within three weeks, on their relevance to the fields of knowledge and the journal's requirements for authors.

The editorial board will send the originals, without the author's name, to two external reviewers, who will issue a report within two weeks. In the event of a disagreement between the two reviewers, the editorial board will decide whether or not to request a third report. Based on these opinions, the editorial board will decide to reject or accept the manuscript, or request that the author make changes.

Authors will receive a detailed, reasoned notice that includes the redrafted contents of the original reports, with specific instructions for modification, if required, and an assessment of the work in accordance with the objective criteria published by the journal.

When authors are asked to make modifications to articles, they will have three weeks in which to do so.

Publication decisions by the Scientific and the Editorial Board are final.
