Abstract

Il progetto di salvaguardia e ripristino di una dimora fortificata nelle inglesi Central Midlands non occulta le cicatrici della storia ma le ri-attiva come fonte e risorsa del disegno. Tra artefatto e natura, tra interno ed esterno, tra antico e contemporaneo, tra consunzione e in-compiuto, si aprono molteplici spazialità capaci di articolare una domesticità tanto serena quanto inquieta.

The project for safeguarding and renovating a fortified manor house in the English Central Midlands does not conceal the scars of history but rather re-activates them as a source and re-source of the design. Between artifact and nature, interior and exterior, ancient and contemporary, between consumption and incompleteness, many spatial spaces are opened which are capable of articulating a domesticity that is as serene as it is restless.
