Abstract

Halldis Moren Vesaas is one of the most renowned voices of twentieth century Norwegian poetry. Loved by the reading public and studied at school, her work is still able to bring lyrical poetry to the general public. Halldis Moren was an important and committed public figure, constantly active during the critical times of her country; her work has been central to the consolidation of the New-Norwegian language and she was also an extremely talented translator. This article comprises an introduction to the author, a selection of poems translated into Italian and a conversation with Guri Vesaas, Halldis Moren and Tarjei Vesaas’ daughter.
