Il giallo svedese: un vezzo d’artista o la ricerca della verità?

Abstract

This articles argues that Björn Larsson’s novels, although certainly not detective stories, nevertheless show an influence of the procedures of detection in the way they pursue a search for truth, i.e. that they are epistemologically oriented in the fact what governs the advancement of the plot is the same as what governs the advancement of learning and the development of characters follows suit. The latter do not stand on their own, but are organically constructed according to a plan which includes the values in which the author believes and in which he also wishes his reader to believe. Beliefs, therefore, are basically more important to him than stories.
