Abstract

The book by Livorni is a rich and complete overview of the relationship between Montale and Eliot. He underlines not only the common elements between the poetics of the two authors, but particularly the deep differences. The volume is a useful summary about this issue, and offers also some intriguing analysis of specific poetic texts. There are some small flaws the review indicates, concerning exegesis and bibliography.
