Abstract

In the memory of Italians the figure of Gabriele d’Annunzio is veiled and confused by time, muted by historical events and the evolution of human sensibility. However, the Vittoriale in Gardone, last residence of the poet, and still wonderfully intact and vital, signals with inalterable resistence the interpretation of a dream, that of conceiving life as a work of art and architecture as guardian of its places, those of a sublime dwelling which transcends eras, thoughts and oblivion.
