Proposta di studio sulla Centralità Locale di Cinecittà a Roma

Abstract

The article reflects on the potential of an urban planning tool called “Local Centralities”, provided for Rome’s General Urban Development Plan (P.R.G.), which derives from the professional experience gained in the drafting to update the proposal of “Local Centrality of Cinecittà”. The urban design is a pilot project, as it is the first of 61 “Local Centralities” to be updated since the approval of P.R.G. in 2008. The work carried out has provided in-depth knowledge of the area but also a broad overview of the planning tool used, which presents a set of planned actions and implementation practices that make it perfectly adaptable. The “Unitary Public Project” incorporates the binding criteria of contemporary urban planning within the organic planning system. Therefore, despite the P.R.G. has been introduced over 20 years ago, in this case the tool is considered to be adequate for supporting new practices and forms of territorial governance.
