Pianificazione transdisciplinare e ricerca attraverso il progetto: il caso di Valdaone (TN)

Abstract

Although numerous practices have contributed over the past decades to transforming urban planning approaches—redefining and diversifying the roles of the actors involved—only a limited number of studies have explored in depth the dynamics that foster principles such as adaptability, multidimensionality, and participation. The paper delineates the experimental procedure conducted in Valdaone (TN), where the administrative consolidation of three villages resulted in phenomena of abandonment and underutilization of formerly occupied facilities. Within this framework, and capitalizing on the opportunity to reconsider roles, disciplines, and responsibilities in the design and management of urban space, the contribution elaborates on a transdisciplinary planning experiment initiated locally. It emphasizes, in particular, the analysis of the impact produced by an approach aimed at transcending the conventional vertical logic of disciplinary boundaries.
