Abstract

The essay deals with the actual trends of Sociology of Social Movements within multi-level governance. In the first part it illustrates the differences between “Old” and “New” Social Movements, stressing the approach defined by Jürgen Habermas. As a focus, it points out a critical analysis of the collective mobilization in Italy. Ten years after the experience of Genoa Social Forum, is the Global Justice Movement still a serious challenger of the political system?
