Cleavage e identità: una chiave di lettura della società europea

Abstract

The essay deals with the cultural and territorial components of the concept of cleavage. Through a multidimensional approach, it proposes combining analytic cleavage category and exit, voice and loyalty procedures that characterise the Old Continent and the critical challenges going through it. The essay pays particular attention to loyalty procedures and underlines how institutional actors, civil society and plans on behalf of the urban and regional agenda interact in view of a public European space. The final part of the essay is concerned with the analysis of young European people’s ideas about being politically involved.
