Abstract

In territorially and socially critical contexts such as those generated by the post-disaster, in this case the earthquake that struck Central Italy between 2016 and 2017, the emergence of forms of grassroots organisation to face emergency appears an already consolidated fact. What is of particular interest seems to be the level of awareness of these social aggregations, the ability to act as an autonomous actors and to think themselves, also in a post-emergency perspective, as bearers of future projects. The case of the Montanari Testoni of Norcia-Cascia is read in this article through the lenses of participation, self-reliance and self-organisation, to identify confirmations and problems of social protagonism on territories.
