Abstract

Aim of this study is to put in light the legacy of Filippo Pacini (1812-1883) in the Biomedical Library of the University of Florence. The Biomedical library contains, in fact, many manuscripts, belonging to the main Authors of the XIXth century who worked in the Hospital of Santa Maria Nuova. These scholars were accustomed to gave their works as a gift to the library and many of them left their personal libraries in heritage. Among these collections, also five autograph letters by Filippo Pacini are preserved, which have never been published, together with his precious donation to the Istituto di Studi Superiori and the almost complete collection of his works. Thanks to this material, many details about Pacini’s life could be enlightened.
