Abstract

The Sixties in the United States is essential to the development of the idea of the road as an architectural place. It is the concept of architecture itself which undergoes a radical transformation. The road, full of symbols of space rather than of form, is a privileged point of observation to inquire into the environment, both natural and built. A point of view that establishes a different relationship between architects and architecture, between the architecture of architects and that of the road.
