Luce e gravità

Abstract

Innanzitutto, ho compreso come nell’opera di architettura sia la luce la vera generatrice dello spazio. Se provassimo a immaginare un’architettura senza luce, ci renderemmo conto che lo spazio, così come lo intendiamo, scomparirebbe. La luce, assieme alla materia e alla gravità, è un elemento primario dell’arte del costruire. Per sua natura astratta, eterea, immateriale, indefinita, la luce ha bisogno della materia per palesarsi.

First of all, I came to understand how light, in architecture, is the true generator of space. If we tried to imagine an architecture without light, we would come to realise how space, as we know it, disappears. Light, together with matter and gravity, is one of the primary elements of the art of building. Due to its abstract, ethereal, intangible and indefinite nature, light needs matter to manifest itself.
