Archeologia del futuro: il teatro Andromeda di Lorenzo Reina

Abstract

Situato nel cuore dei monti Sicani, il teatro Andromeda è un’opera al contempo remota e profondamente connessa rispetto al meraviglioso paesaggio che la ospita. Lorenzo Reina, il pastore di Santo Stefano di Quisquina (AG) che, sull’urgenza di una ispirazione intima e irrefrenabile, ha deciso di far emergere dalle rocce di una collina questo archetipo tettonico che lì riposava forse da secoli, forse da prima che il genere umano popolasse quei luoghi. L’opera intreccia un dialogo serrato tra paesaggio terrestre e quello celeste.

Located in the heart of the Sicani Mountains, the Andromeda Theatre is at once remote and deeply connected to the beautiful landscape that hosts it. Lorenzo Reina is a shepherd from Santo Stefano di Quisquina (in the Province of Agrigento) who, urged by an intimate and irrepressible inspiration, decided to draw out from the rocks on a hillside this tectonic archetype which had been resting there perhaps for centuries, maybe even before mankind appeared in this area. The monument engages a tightly-knit dialogue between earthly and celestial landscapes.
