Abstract
This Upper-Cloister, a Zen-inspired architectural complex set among the rocks and forests of the Golden Mountain in Luanping, offers Atelier Deshaus an opportunity to 'reflect' on the Chinese architectural tradition in the Western modus-hodiernus, through a profound and radical re-interpretation of the emblematic Buddhist Foguang Si monastery, from the Tang dynasty era.
