«Casa la vita»

Abstract

La casa è l’archetipo fondamentale della architettura ma è anche molto di più: è la vita stessa che si deposita e cristallizza intorno a noi, diventa forma, sostegno, conchiglia umana. La casa come struttura intermedia e centrale di quella serie di avvolgimenti che abbiamo chiamato le «conchiglie umane», se da una parte ha nell’uomo la sua ragion d’essere e il suo doppio, ha nell’universo la sua ultima proiezione e quindi reca in sé il sentimento del cosmo e una misteriosa percezione del tutto.

The house is the fundamental archetype of architecture, yet it is also much more than that: it is life itself that deposits and crystallises around us, becomes form, support, human shell. The house as a central and intermediate structure in that series of enclosures we call the «human shells». If, on the one hand, it has in man itself its raison d’être and its double, it has in the universe its ultimate projection and therefore carries in it the feeling of the cosmos and a mysterious perception of the whole.
