Abstract

Generico è parlare di Oriente e Occidente. Quanti orienti abbiamo conosciuto? E in quanti occidenti si stempera una latitudine assai estesa? La geopolitica parla di un confine mobile. Ci interessa il fisso che resta, al netto del mutare del tempo e dei luoghi.
La corte era all’origine sito per ritrovarsi e proteggere il fuoco, così la casa cinese: quanto questa esperienza ancora oggi genera progetto?

With a certain approximation, someone still speaks of East and West. How many Orients have we known? And into how many Wests does a rather broad latitude get diluted? Geopolitics speaks of a continuously mobile border. In our work we’re interested in the fixed things that remain after the backwash of time and the mutation of places. Is the courtyard, typical for some chinese houses, still able to generate design today?
