Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • the manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal;
  • the manuscript falls within the focus and scope of TEMA;
  • the submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, or RTF format;
  • the manuscript has been prepared according to the TEMA template and author guidelines;
  • the instructions for ensuring a blind review have been followed;
  • all references have been checked for accuracy and completeness;
  • all figures, tables, datasets, and supplementary materials are original or have been reproduced with the necessary permissions;
  • the authors authorise the Editorial Team to screen the manuscript using Crossref Similarity Check

Author Guidelines

All manuscripts must be written in English. Either British or American English may be used, provided that spelling and terminology are consistent throughout the manuscript.

Each submission must be accompanied by a Title Page + Cover Letter

Each manuscript must follow the TEMA Template and include:

  • title, maximum 20 words;
  • abstract, maximum 350 words;
  • maximum 5 keywords;
  • main text, structured into clearly defined sections;
  • references;
  • figures, tables, and captions, where applicable.

For research articles, the recommended structure is:

  • Introduction;
  • Materials and Methods / Methodology;
  • Results;
  • Discussion;
  • Conclusions.

Alternative structures may be accepted, provided that the organisation of the manuscript is clear and scientifically appropriate.

Anonymization

TEMA applies a double-blind peer-review process. Authors must therefore submit an anonymized manuscript.

The anonymized manuscript must not include:

  • author names;
  • affiliations;
  • acknowledgements;
  • funding information that may reveal the authors’ identity;
  • references to research groups, laboratories, or projects that may compromise anonymity;
  • file metadata containing author information.

Acknowledgments and funding information must be provided separately, via Title Page + Cover Letter, during the submission process and will be added after acceptance, where appropriate.
