Abstract
The attention of sociology for visual practices, for the paradigmatic character of iconic material and for the function the latter has in building our knowledge, is of great importance for the analysis and interpretation of the complexity of the social world. The sociology of documentaries wishes to cross disciplinary divisions in order to produce forms of visual experience and develop critical and interpretative tools capable of giving a more acute insight and of adopting a methodical approach necessary to objectify one’s experiences; it proposes to define the rules that govern the interaction between social representations and the forms of everyday life.
