About the Journal

Focus and Scope

A scientific journal: includes studies on the sources of photography, on its history, and on its social and theoretical uses. It assumes an authoritative position in both the national and international field for the excellence of its studies on Italian photography, but has also established a place within the contemporary debate concerning photography world-wide. Its cultural position is to favour a mix of the diversity of knowledge about photography, as documentation which records both the collective and individual past, but also, as a work of art, a specific artistic expression.
