Abstract

The images from Silvio Soldini's films often move along roads and motorways, on unusual and bumpy paths that cross undefined places and boundaries: rough itineraries and spaces which are nonetheless open to the possible, and which involve in particular female characters, more open to accept the challenge of a precarious and unstable existence which is however more vital precisely because it is unexpected.
