K-Studio. Liknon, Brand home delle cantine Metaxa, Isola di Samo, Grecia

Abstract

Liknon, il «museo» delle cantine Metaxa realizzato da K-Studio nel 2022 è un percorso che mette in mostra e custodisce la terra delle vigne. Per la capacità di rileggere i caratteri storici dell’architettura ellenica e per l’adesione ai principi insediativi del luogo il progetto può ritenersi erede di quella tradizione ‘eretica’ del Moderno che ricerca nell’architettura spontanea la sorgente del rinnovamento e che annovera fra i suoi maggiori esponenti Dimitris Pikionis e Aris Konstantinidis.

Liknon, the brand home of the Metaxa winery designed and built by K-Studio in 2022, is devised as an itinerary that both showcases and preserves the land on which the vineyards grow. Due to its ability to reinterpret the historical features of Hellenic architecture and its respect for the settlement principles of the site, the project can be considered as an heir to the “heretical” tradition of the Modern Movement which identifies spontaneous architecture as a source of renewal. This tradition has Dimitris Pikionis and Aris Konstantinidis among its major exponents.
