Cittadinanza e diritto alla città in Patrick Geddes e Henri Lefebvre

Abstract

The paper presents an interesting comparison between Patrick Geddes and Henri Lefebvre on subjects such as citizenship and the right to the city. The historical and cultural differences between the two figures analysed are great, yet they were both among the first to link space and citizenship and to underline the importance of the construction and representation of citizenship in space. The aim is to focus on certain key questions of urban life, such as the concepts of citizenship and political community, as well as their permanence and continuity through time.
