Abstract

In October 2023, Pistoia and Pisa commemorated the bicentenary of the birth of mathematician Enrico Betti, Pistoiese by birth and Pisan by adoption. Betti was an important mathematician and “Betti’s numbers” are mentioned and used by mathematicians all over the world. But this article is going to focus mainly on his contribution to the Italian national Risorgimento.
