Abstract
Starting from Husserl’s critique of hedonism in his 1920-24 Einführung in die Ethik, the article tries to lay some groundings for rethinking the place of pleasure in a world of values. Pleasure provides the motivation for intentional agency (Husserl’s Streben), and is viewed, in a more general ethical framework, as an emancipating principle, capable of freeing further pleasure: this allows a reworking of value itself, conceived of as the object intended in action.Metrics
