Abstract
During the 18th century there was in Europe a sort of ‘internationalization’ of the forms of paid accommodation buildings in terms of features and services offered, following the exponential growth of the number of travelers, especially aristocrats, on the wave of the phenomenon of the Grand Tour. This article analyzes the hospitality forms in the Old Continent, demonstrating how they are closely linked to an evolution of the historical, economic and cultural nature of society that took place during the eighteenth century.Metrics
